Silva Saturday: Introduction

If you have read my blog then you probably know that I have the biggest fascination with Jason Silva. He is the perfect definition of “creative genius” and constantly delivers a flow of profound insight into my life.

For those of you who have never heard of Jason Silva, here is a blurb from his website…..

Jason Silva is an Emmy-nominated and world renowned TV personality, storyteller, filmmaker, and sought-after keynote speaker and futurist.

Jason is known for hosting 5 seasons of the Emmy-nominated, global hit TV series Brain Games, on the National Geographic Channel, broadcasted in over 171 countries.

A global keynote speaker, Jason has given talks at events for Microsoft, Intel, Cisco, Oracle, Adobe, Electronic Arts, Cannes Lions, Tribeca Film Festival, National Geographic, Discovery Channel, 20th Century Fox, Cosmopolitan, PHD Worldwide, Google Zeitgeist, TED Global, The Economist, and more.

“A Timothy Leary of the Viral Video Age” was how The Atlantic described Silva, “part Timothy Leary, part Ray Kurzweil, and part Neo from ‘The Matrix.’

I thought it would be fun and interesting (at least to me) to start doing Silva Saturdays, in which I post one of his videos that resonates with me, which most of them do. I just feel like it’s my duty to share this piece of “awe” known as Jason Silva with others.

The people that I have introduced his work to either LOVE what he has to say… of my friend’s exact response to watching one of his videos was “Woah, he is woke as fuck”…. or they find him annoying, mostly because of his erratic speech and flailing hand gestures. And probably because they are a little close-minded or fail to resonate with or grasp what he is trying to articulate.

But for me, I just see unadulterated joy and passion in his words and I, myself, talk using my hands alot so that doesn’t bother me. He is only very animated like that when he is in his “flow state” and speaking out in his “Shots of Awe”. And I love the little bit of “insanity” that seems to shine through. Most geniuses and freethinkers do seem a little off to most of “normal” society. I think his ideas and thoughts are extremely revolutionary and deep.

And as evidenced by just this normal Q&A session, he is actually pretty chill….

So, I will be sharing my very first “Silva Saturday” post later on today. It will be about vulnerability, which is a very prominent subject in my life right now. I will add my own take on it, as well. I will do that sometimes….add my own opinions and thoughts about whatever he’s talking about. And sometimes I may just let his insight speak for itself.

So, until later, everyone have a beautiful day. I will be out and about for awhile. I have to run some errands and my son has a birthday party to attend so it should be a busy day. But I can’t wait to sit down this evening and share my life’s biggest inspiration with you all.
